Travel Insurance – is it Necessary or Required?

Many people will ask if Travel Insurance is necessary or required at all. Like all types of insurance, Travel Insurance too requires a premium to be paid, and many families and individuals are averse to paying a premium for this insurance. Most families, couples, and individuals who travel at least once a year for annual holidays or several times a year on short trips of a few days, or even day trips, are unaware of the fact that opting for Cheap Travel Insurance is a safeguard and risk management against a loss during travel.

Many people who travel extensively for business, or travel writers who travel extensively, are aware of travel insurance and make appropriate arrangements for insurance, but the majority of citizens are unaware of the necessity for Travel Insurance, or just what it means. Travel Insurance basically covers medical expenses incurred during travel, insurance against financial losses such as nonrefundable pre-payments, and many other losses that a family or individual may incur while travelling, either within the country, or even internationally. This does not mean that a family or individual has to pay a heavy fee or premium for this insurance. There are Cheap Travel Insurance options available from many insurance firms, according to requirement.

The necessity and requirement for Travel Insurance is the same as for other types of insurance like Life Insurance, Car Insurance, Property insurance, etc. The basic principle of opting for insurance is safeguarding against loss. Take for instance Car Insurance; if your car is damaged due to an accident or floods, or any other reason covered in your car insurance policy, the insurance company pays for the repairs. The same principle applies for Travel Insurance. But the types of losses an individual or family could face while travelling is the most common question that arises.

There are many risks and situations where losses could be incurred while travelling and the most common risks are medical expenses incurred if an individual or family member is sick or injured during travel, emergency evacuation or repatriation due to conflicts in the country visited, overseas funeral expenses in case of death, accidental death, injury, or disablement benefits, cancellation of flights or other paid for transport, cancelled hotel bookings, etc. An individual or family can opt for Cheap Travel Insurance packages and select a package, which covers the risks that they think need to be covered, which in turn decides the premium to be paid for the insurance.

There are many insurance companies that offer numerous, comprehensive, Travel Insurance packages, but they also offer Cheap Travel Insurance packages according to client requirements, and every individual and family planning on a holiday or a short trip should make adequate arrangements for proper insurance. It is better to be cautious and safe with insurance, than to be sorry for not opting for insurance and having to bear a financial loss in case of cancellations, delays, medical emergencies, etc.

Travel Insurance Packages – Selecting the Appropriate Package

Depending on requirements, an individual, family, or group, can select and purchase an appropriate Travel Insurance package from insurance companies or the travel agent at the time of booking for a trip. Travel Insurance is offered for Single trips with return journeys, Multiple trips in a year either within the country or international travel, Ski and Winter Sports Insurance, Cheap Travel Insurance for Backpackers, and more.

If you are an individual or a family planning a yearly holiday and plan to travel within the country or visit another country for a few days, then the Single return journey package is appropriate. But you still have to analyze the options in the policy and the risks covered by the policy being offered. Most of the Single trip insurance packages include medical insurance for emergencies during travel, baggage insurance, and cancellation of flights and bookings insurance. The premium may seem a bit too much to pay for a few days travel, but it is always better to play it safe than to be sorry for not purchasing Travel Insurance.

The Annual Multi trip Travel insurance package is best for individuals who have to travel a lot, within and outside the country, either for business or visiting the company ‘s offices in different locations. This package is also good for actors who may have to travel extensively to different countries for shoots, and for travel writers who may travel extensively to different countries throughout the year. This package is also appropriate for families who go on many small trips lasting a week or more, several times in a year. The benefit of this package is that the individual businessman harried for time, or a family, which travels a lot throughout the year, does not need to purchase Travel Insurance every time they plan a trip. This is especially beneficial for businessmen, as they may have to travel at very short notice at times.

If you are an individual or family planning a Skiing and winter sports trip, then a Ski and winter sports Travel Insurance is important and necessary. Many companies offer Cheap Travel Insurance for Ski and winter sports enthusiasts and the insurance covers many of the risks associated with Skiing and winter sports. The Ski and winter sports insurance covers injury while Skiing or participating in other winter sports, providing the insured individual is not  in a prohibited area. The insurance normally covers all expenses incurred in getting the individual to hospital, including by air ambulance if required, and hospital expenses. Although most insurers and Travel Insurance packages cover many winter sports, it is better to be aware of and ask questions regarding what is covered and what is not.

An individual, student, or a couple travelling within the country or visiting or touring another country on a shoestring budget, with just a backpack, can get Cheap Travel Insurance with the most basic and minimum risks covered. Backpacker insurance packages can cover skiing and winter sports injuries, adventure sports and hazardous activities like wind surfing, scuba diving, etc. This Travel Insurance package also covers baggage insurance for lost or stolen baggage. For a student or a couple planning on a long trip overseas to Europe or backpacking in an unknown country, this insurance is essential.

Benefits of Purchasing Travel Insurance

Travel Insurance is required and should be purchased for trips that last for any duration of time and includes travelling alone or with your family in a car, by plane, or by any other mode of transport. Even if you are travelling to another country and back for a short trip, you should at least purchase a Cheap Travel Insurance package. Everyone travelling within their own country or abroad, either on a short trip, or a longer 15 plus days holiday should purchase insurance. Purchasing insurance for travelling ensures timely help and assistance, if and when required. Insurance is an invaluable asset, especially if you are travelling overseas, in an unknown country, either alone or with family, with no acquaintances, friends or family in that country to assist you if you are in distress or encounter any problem.

There are many problems that may or may not occur while travelling, but it is better to understand what can happen while travelling, and the benefits of Travel Insurance. Millions of people around the world travel every year, and there are many people who deeply regret not purchasing Travel Insurance. People tend to depend more on their credit and debit cards and accident insurance cover while travelling, and fail to understand that these will not help in most cases of distress and problems. In an emergency or accident, for example a skiing accident, these credit and debit cards, and accident insurance are useless, as they cannot assist you in transporting you to a hospital by Air ambulance, which even the Cheap Travel Insurance packages provide.

An emergency in another country can be even more distressing and may be very expensive. If the emergency requires you to be transported or air lifted to your own country, it could cost thousands of pounds, unless you have purchased appropriate Travel Insurance, or even Cheap Travel Insurance. In a medical emergency, transportation through Air Ambulance could cost anywhere from 25000$ to 50000$ depending on the country and distance covered. The embassies, Consulates, and High commissions of your country will not pay for this transportation or other hospital costs, and you have to bear the financial loss and expenses incurred, including hospital fees. But if you have purchased Travel Insurance, all this is normally taken care of by the insurance company, and you do not have to bear any of the expenses.

Travel Insurance includes health and risk covers for injuries and sudden illness, and insurers provide 24 hours emergency service and assistance. Some insurance packages also cover personal liability cover in case you are sued for causing injury or damaging someone’s property. Many insurance packages, including the Cheap Travel Insurance packages also cover lost or stolen documents, valuables, and baggage as well as, cover for cancellation or curtailment of your trip. Some comprehensive Travel Insurance packages could also cover legal expenses in case of legal issues encountered abroad, etc.

Travel Insurance is like carrying a personal alarm for protection. You may never need it or use it, but if a situation arises, you have the peace of mind of knowing you have a way to protect yourself. It is insurance and preparation against unforeseen problems. If you are not prepared to bear the financial cost for comprehensive insurance, you should at least purchase Cheap Travel Insurance, which covers the most common and basic risks and provides medical assistance if and when required.

Travel Medical Insurance is Not an Option

Travel Medical Insurance is Not an Option

Travel medical insurance is not an option. Travel medical insurance is not a luxury when you travel. You may think or rationalize – if it comes between the choice of a couple of nice meals on my vacation or travels or purchasing “optional” travel health medical insurance “I know that I will need/ enjoy that meal” , or better accommodations but not the “medical , health , travel insurance”.

Yet not taking out, purchasing the plan or be underinsured can make your travels not only not as pleasant but change your whole life and financial situation for the worst.

Whether you are traveling for pleasure, for business or even for medical treatment itself – that is “medical tourism”, travel medical insurance is essential for yourself, your family and traveling companions.

Even if you are young you may encounter an accidental injury or illness. No one is immune. Say for example you are on a skiing trip in Canada and you suffer an injury or accident on the slopes. Health care may be “free “for Canadians but not for an out of country, American tourist. You will pay full bore, back at home, American medical care rates. Imagine being uninsured and having to pay these bills. Imagine a bank loan or charge card loan to pay off for many years to come. All with horrendous interest rates.

Imagine you are a tourist from the U.K. and you are visiting New York City – perhaps to view the famous Dakota of Beatles rock star John Lennon fame. Imagine you have one too many New York City famous Hot Dog vendor’s products that land you in the hospital with a severe case of food poisoning. Again your U.K. national health care is not going to pay your medical care bills while traveling in the states. While at least only a small portion of that medical treatment bill. You will be left with the lion’s share of that large medical bill to pay off – over time most likely. Who needs such lingering memories of your “wonderful” vacation?

Even if you are traveling overseas for more reasonable or prompt medical care as a “medical tourist”, one of your families or traveling companions may take ill. You may be the one going offshore for medical or health care treatment yet it may become their emergency that may become the focal point and perhaps the cost factor – not your own treatment. Again, who is going for the necessary and most likely medical care on the spot and how?

Hence purchasing and providing for travel medical insurance is not an option.
It is not an add on but rather an essential component of travel and travel health plans in this day and age.

Have proper coverage and ask questions. Does your health care coverage from work or your own purchase cover your travel health needs? What is covered, what is not? How long will that coverage last? Is this coverage adequate or show supplementary coverage be afforded and purchased as well?

If you have to or decide to purchase travel medical coverage again asks questions. Do not assume. Is the coverage adequate both in terms of coverage and the time duration of your trip? Can the time length be increased if need be or required? What is covered, what is not by the health care travel medical insurance? Is the underwriting firm well known, reputable and have either a toll free number or even better offices in the geographic areas of your travels. Do you need to get approval before medical treatment begins? Do the medical care providers get paid and reimbursed directly from the insurance company or is it a case of the cash being paid from your pocket directly with reimbursement to yourself at a later date by the insurance firm? Again ask questions on the spot not later. If the clerk is uncertain of the answer then await a direct answer or if needed contact their superior or “head office”.

In the end when it comes to travel and travel health care concerns and coverage a penny spent in effort and preparation is worth a ton of cure as well as prevented costs and aggravations. Pleasant travels.

Benefits of Multi-trip Travel Insurance for the Frequent Traveller

Multi-trip travel insurance is also known as annual travel insurance.  This type of policy is fairly self-explanatory.  It can provide insurance coverage for you for a whole year from the moment you apply for the policy.  This plan is ideal if you are planning to take several holiday trips and participate in multiple annual sporting events.  It can also be very useful if you frequently travel to attend to your business deals and transactions.

You can save a lot if you choose to get an annual travel insurance policy.  This is also the biggest benefit you can get from multi-trip travel insurance.  Although annual travel insurance would be more expensive than single trip insurance, you will be able to get multiple coverage from a single policy instead of getting one policy for each of your trips.  Normally, the cost of annual travel insurance starts from £18.20.  This basic plan will be able to provide comprehensive medical cover as well as coverage for included sporting activities.

Multi-trip travel insurance is also very convenient for you as you will not need to contact the insurance office every time you book a trip or plan a holiday vacation.  With annual travel insurance in place, you can simply plan your travel and holiday trip without worrying about insurance coverage.  Multi-trip travel insurance usually has unlimited cover for each of your trips, so simply pack your bags and gear and go on your way.  You are guaranteed to have sufficient protection for most problems that may happen during your travels.

Multi-trip travel insurance can also protect your family travelling with you.  A basic package will include free coverage for children who will accompany you during your holiday vacation.  You can also get sufficient extra coverage for sports activities.  You can also choose if you would like special add-on coverage for winter sports activities such as skiing and snowboarding.  One big advantage is you can get 24-hour support services from the emergency services if you take advantage of an annual or multi-trip travel insurance package.

Typical multi-trip travel insurance is unlimited so you get protection every time you travel.  But you have to know the options you have for the duration of each cover.  Normally, you can have 31, 45, and 60 days trip cover.  So you should carefully determine the duration of your stay in a single vacation place in order to avoid inconvenience due to having misread the terms of trip coverage.  You can also have the option to transfer the cover to a companion if ever you have to cancel your trip or cut your holiday shorter than expected.

Multi-trip travel insurance provides financial security, convenience, and is very cost-effective.  You should get a plan that is suitable for your yearly or annual travel itineraries.  Getting annual travel insurance will eliminate the danger of forgetting to get coverage for your trip.  Not only will you save money and time if you get annual travel insurance, you can also save yourself from the hassle of filling out insurance policy forms every time you go on a trip.

Always get Annual Travel Insurance if you are a frequent traveler. You can protect yourself with Multi-trip Travel Insurance you can find on our site.

Duplicate changes in this section:  Content: You can travel on business purposes in your country for a day or two or you can travel abroad for more days, for a week or for more time. In any of these situations, you need business travel insurance. Even though money is not really a problem for you, you may look for the cheapest business travel insurance company. If you need to go quite frequently to visit your partners in order to ensure the success of your business, especially if they are critical, it is no use spending a lot of money on insurance.

If you do not travel very frequently, you can purchase business travel insurance for a single trip. On the other hand, if your business requires many visits to a foreign country, for example, you can purchase business travel insurance for a year and obtain the cheapest business travel insurance. Here are some situations when cheap insurance can be a real advantage for you:

An unwanted and annoying situation for a businessperson can be to find out from his or her partner that their meeting has just been cancelled. The cheapest business travel insurance is very useful if you fall ill just before an important business trip. If your company cannot replace you with another person, it can mean the loss of  a lot of money without insurance. There are travel insurance packages  to cover your replacement, including accommodation and flight. In this case, your absence will not cost the company money or affect the trip.

Furthermore, international business can be complicated. Many unwanted and unexpected situations can arise when you may be distracted and  equipment can be stolen or lost. There may be situations when you do have travel insurance, but it is not specifically business travel insurance. It only covers holidays. Therefore, if you really need business travel insurance pay attention to the policy you get from the insurance company to make sure it is the correct one.

Last, but not least, this type of travel insurance is necessary if you face a medical emergency. It might not be a serious injury, but medical costs are very expensive, especially in the USA.

If business travel insurance is what you need this is the right place for you. Here you can find the cheapest business travel insurance advice and information.

Annual Travel Insurance: Simplifying Cover for Frequent Travellers

Travel insurance is essential for every trip, no matter how long your getaway or how far you plan to travel. But if you’re like countless travellers out there, thinking about and actually sorting your travel insurance arrangements is not at the top of your to-do list – primarily because it’s not the most exciting thing to think about with regard to your travels. Nevertheless, travel insurance is important and you should make time to arrange cover well before your date of departure.

But, as if it weren’t hard enough to consider insurance for individual, once-a-year holidays, frequent travellers need to think about cover all the time. And if destinations vary greatly, getting a suitable insurance policy for each place of travel can be time consuming, costly and confusing.

However, those who travel frequently throughout the year have a better option than to secure seperate policies for each trip. The answer is in <a rel=”nofollow” onclick=”javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackPageview', '/outgoing/article_exit_link']);” href=”http://uk.insurancewide.com/insurance/travel/”>annual travel insurance</a> – a product that combines comprehensive cover, convenience and value, all under one policy.

Annual travel insurance policies will often cover travellers for an unlimited number of trips within the span of twelve months. However, you might find that insurers will place a limit on how many days a singe trip can last – so if you tend to take extended trips, you’ll want to look out for this restriction. Some policies will also include a limited number of days’ cover for winter sport activities, such as skiing and snowboarding, at minimal or no extra charge. However, not all insurers will offer this, so it’s essential to compare annual travel insurance policies before committing to any one product.

Another advantage to annual travel insurance is that buyers usually obtain better value by buying one policy that covers them for the entire year, rather than multiple policies for individual trips. Moreover, certain annual travel insurance policies will offer money-saving perks such as free cover for under-18s travelling with their family. No matter how you look at it, annual travel insurance ends up a better bargain for frequent travellers.

Generally, if you travel more than two times a year, an annual travel insurance policy will be of value to you, in terms of the money you’ll save. But it’s also a big time saver, as you won’t have to compare and secure policies for each and every trip you take – so you’ll have more time to think about and plan all the fun aspects of your trips.

Harvey is passionate about getting you the best insurance deals possible.
